We understand that you might not know all of the ins and outs of being a visiting student at Rice, so we have linked some important resources and information to help you get started.

These resources are available during the semester that a visiting student is registered and are subject to change. After each semester, visiting students will be inactivated and will lose their access unless they reapply/register for the next semester.

Extracurricular Activities

Make the most out of your experience as a visiting student at Rice and get involved outside of the classroom.

  • Attend a Rice Owls Sporting Event – free with student ID card
  • Purchase a membership to access the Recreation Center

ESTHER

ESTHER is a web application that students use to pay their tuition bill online, check grades, and request transcripts. Information on accessing your ESTHER account will be sent upon admission into the visiting student program. Contact the Office of the Registrar if you have any questions regarding your ESTHER account.

Canvas

Canvas is an online learning management system used by Rice for all course-related curriculum needs.

Help Desk

The Help Desk is available to help you with issues such as accessing your Rice email, logging in to Canvas, etc.
